RULES & REGULATIONS
My uncle ( who was an elder for over 40 years ) passed away in March of 2012. We lived close to each other and any favor he needed I would do. In his last months I would take him to Doctor appointments and spend as much time with him as possible.
I've been asked to be a pallbearer for all my family funerals. This time I was not asked to be a pallbearer for my uncle. (I haven't been to any meetings in over 9 months.)
A new Minsterial Servant who came to our congregation 6 months ago ( who hardly knew my uncle ) was asked. My aunt and family probably had me on the list but were over-ruled by the self-righteous Elder who gave the talk and prayer. All the pallbearers were baptised members of his congregation. They had plenty of nephews who could of been asked but chose not to include them.
I'm not mad at my aunt or my cousins. I'm mad at how petty this Elder was! What was the problem with me walking out the casket of my uncle and walking it less than 50 feet to the waiting hearse ?

I hope you hang in there! You posted on one of my threads stating that you had facial neuralgia. I looked it up on WIKIPEDIA and it sounds very painful. Do you have central neuralgia or peripheal neuralgia?
I've had health problems the last 2 years that have made me depressed but I continue to fight in a positive way. The last 2 years I've had :
Kidney Stones.....Gall Stones.....High Blood Pressure.....Tinnitus.....2 Herniated Disc.....Deviated Septum.....Sleep Apnea.....and hearing loss. I'm only 50 years old.
Everytime I see a Doctor they ask,'' How are you doing?'' I tell them that these medical issues are just small problems.
I just hope I never get cancer. That's when I would become depressed. My cousin passed away 2 years ago from liver cancer and that makes all my health problems seem so small.
Take care of yourself!

Do Elders give ''goodbye'' talks when leaving their congregations?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini've had the same elders in my congregation for the last 25 years.
they've added two new elders in the last five years.
none of them have ever moved to another congregation.. i would like to know: if an elder decides to move to another congregation, will they let him give a little ''goodbye'' talk at the service meeting to thank everyone?

RULES & REGULATIONS
The last assembly I attended (2 years ago) had a dramatization about higher education . Two sisters went up. One was a Counselor and one a student not wanting to go to College. I will paraphrase as best as I can.
High School Counselor: ''Have a seat Karen and I will show you all the College applications I have for you.''
Sister: ''Thank you for all the work you have done.''
Counselor: '' I have an application from Harvard, one from Michigan University, and a couple from the East Coast.''
Sister: '' I have done alot of thinking and decided not to go to any College."
Counselor: ''Karen, you have a 4.0 grade average and scored very high on the A.C.T. and you would have no problem getting into any of these schools."
Sister: '' As you know,I'm a Jehovah's Witness and we believe that we are near the ''end times.'' I decided that I will go into the preaching work part time and maybe go to a 2 year school."
Counselor: ''You will probably get into these schools at almost no cost because of your 4.0 average and high A.C.T. scores and have a good career the rest of your life. These are great schools and will prepare you to land a good job.''
Sister: ''This world is passing by and may not be here any longer. I decided to enter the ministry work and Jehovah God will provide for me in the future."
Everyone applauded except me. That was really sad to see!

4/15 WT- WTS Doesn't Care about your Happiness- Just JW's Obedience
by flipper inbeen off the board for about 6 days or so battling a nasty bout of vertigo that hit me early this week.
at least my heads not spinning so i can think straight now to type a thread.
in this article titled, " maintain a complete heart towards jehovah " ( which should be called ' maintain a complete heart towards the wt society ) - wt society uses a lame illustration of a field laborer desiring family - yet missapplies this to jw's desiring " things of satan's world".. on page 15 it states, " a field laborer is busy plowing.

Great thread as usual!
My uncle passed away about a month ago at 85 years old. He served as an Elder for close to 50 years. He plowed his field and worked for the WTS without ever seeing any benefits for his labor. The WTS promised him that ''his generation would not pass away'' and ''the end was always around the corner.''
My uncle worked jobs that promised him no Saturday,Sunday work,no nights,no overtime, and time off without pay so he could pioneer in the summer months. He went to all summer conventions in New York, Canada, and even California for three days. Besides the conventions,he never took his family on a vacation.
The only material he ever read was Watchtower related. He never read any books, magazines,or newspapers. I went to his house in his last days and he would be seen reading the Bible. He never went out to any movies, plays, concerts, picnics, restaurants, and sporting events because he was too busy being an Elder and pioneering when his work would let him. When he retired at 65,he pioneered until he was 83 years old. He would still go out in service even when he couldn't walk any longer.
He maintained ''a complete heart towards Jehovah WTS'' and never reaped any benefits! What a sad day it was when they lowered his coffin in the ground and saw that all his work for this corportation was a lie! All he did was work for a book publishing and real estate corporation!

Tinnitus - are you afflicted?
by Glander intap a spoon on a crystal goblet - the ringing sound never stops.
sometimes birds also chirp, it is always there.. otc remedies are useless.
mine started with a workplace situation that could have been prevented with simple ear plugs, but in those days nobody knew that extreme noise over a prolonged time could cause aural nerve damage.

I have been afflicted with Tinnitus and loss of hearing in both ears for over two years. I finally made an appointment with an ENT last week and was given a dietary supplement called LIPO-FLAVONOID. I'm taking three pills a day to improve circulation in the inner ear. Hope it works!
The loss of hearing and the ringing in my ears are due to listening to loud music. I've been to over 200 hard rock, funk, and heavy metal concerts in my life. I started going to shows when I was 15 years old and attend shows even today with my son. We've seen Slayer,Rob Zombie,Ozzy,Ministry,Megadeth, Nevermore and hundreds of others. Some of these shows were so loud that we would go home with ears ringing for days. The louder the music the better the show!
The ENT told me that my ears are damaged and that Tinnitus may afflict me all my life. The ringing is worse when there is complete silence. The ringing is non-stop. I was told that the ringing will get worse as I age. I hope there is some relief in site for people with Tinnitus. If anyone knows of a solution please drop me a message.

You stated: '' I don't go very often"
How can they ask you to Auxiliary Pioneer if you miss meetings? I always thought that meeting attendance was one of the prerequisites!
